The Leroy Henry Scandal 1944

A black American GI, stationed in England in the lead up to the Normandy invasion, knocks on the door of  a local house at night looking for directions back to camp having been out with his comrades at a pub. He ends up being convicted of rape in a racist military tribunal. But what happened next and the consequential occurrences lead to a series of unexpected and wide ranging events that reached as far as Allied High Command.

Case 53 ’The Killer Priest’ New York 1916

In February 1916, the only clergyman to face capital punishment in America was executed for murdering and dismembering a pregnant woman. He was also a rapist and suspected serial killer. This episode follows him all the way to the electric chair.
