A black American GI, stationed in England in the lead up to the Normandy invasion, knocks on the door of  a local house at night looking for directions back to camp having been out with his comrades at a pub. He ends up being convicted of rape in a racist military tribunal. But what happened next and the consequential occurrences lead to a series of unexpected and wide ranging events that reached as far as Allied High Command.
